projectors (maybe not exactly the same model as you) and have found it
works pretty much problem free with projectors, so I *think* the issue
is resolved.

Hmm, I don't see evidence of the projector in either log file. Could
you explain how you're doing the connection? E.g., are you plugging it
in after booted up, or connecting and then rebooting? Also, are you
connecting it to the VGA port, or S-Video, or something else?
