I have the same problem here.. with the same adapter in a DELL 5557
(Inspiron 15 - 5000 Series)
Some time it will works fine.. some times will not!

Have you used any operating system with this computer that bluetooth has
worked as it could be that the wifi doesn't have bluetooth built into
the chip or the BIOS is somehow blocking it
