Remove fglrx from /etc/default/linux-restricted-modules and you are
fine.

For the X1300 card you can not use the ati driver, only
fglrx/vesa/radeonhd.The LVDSBiosNativeMode option was only for the
ati driver. If you want to use the fglrx driver, I guess it should not
be disabled in /etc/default/linux-restricted-modules-common.

I am with the same problem.
I installed the final version of Ubuntu 7,10 and everything functioned
perfectly. However, when installing driver of the video plate (Radeon X1300
256MB), I restarted the Ubuntu and after boot appears a black screen.
My processor is i386.
It would like to see this
