Hi
First, I want you to know that the checksum of my burned cd was fine, it was
burned on a low speed and 7.10 started up without problems on a different
machine.
So, now to the actual issue:
Started the livecd, chose for 'install ubuntu....' progression bar appears,
then the screen went black and a cursor just kept on blinking...no error
messages.
Rebooted, tried with the safe graphics option...progression bar appears, then i
get the following error on my screen:
**** udevd-event[2230]: run_program:'/sbin/modprobe' ......abnormal exit ****
then busybox starts and the screen gets into some basic shell.
rebooted , went with the option to check the cd for errors....same error
message as before...
My system:
pentium 3 coppermine 1Ghz
386Mb memory

(I currently run mint3.1 based on feisty 7.04 without a problem).
I'll try to start over without any usbdevices attached and report on it.
