Public bug reported: Open gnome-software and search for gedit. There are two results.
Upstream renamed their desktop file, and we provide a copy with the old name for compatibility purposes. One result is for gedit.desktop and the other is for gedit's appdata org.gnome.gedit.appdata.xml. The appdata references org.gnome.gedit.desktop which has NoDisplay=true - maybe we could look at that and hide the search result. This doesn't happen when the application is uninstalled because we added X-AppStream-Ignore=true to gedit.desktop (the one which is not NoDisplay!) so that it's only presented once. ** Affects: gnome-software (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1544565 Title: Two results for 'gedit' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-software/+bug/1544565/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
