Hi Arnaud,
looks like the issue you describe is a different bug. I believe we have
the similar bug for dialer already reported here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dialer-app/+bug/1407977
It's a different app, but the root cause of both bugs is the same.

The issue is when you have so many messages to delete in the same time.
I already saw this bug. The partial solution is to select some messages
and delete the, reselect some messages and delete them. Until the full
conversation is removed...

Hi,
Selecting all messages and choosing delete worked for me when I left the
device untouched overnight. As a result I can't currently reproduce the
issue because my list of messages is only two screens long (it was tens
of screens long originally).
In time I will be able to reproduce this issue

Hi,
do you have access to the device over adb? if so, could you run "adb shell
dbus-monitor > history.log"
and try removing the message again?
Then attach history.log here.
