Yes, using: the xserver-xorg-video-ati_6.7.195+git20071020tv_i386.deb
driver removes the need for the Option override.

I have had the same issue, adding Option LVDSBiosNativeMode false
to the Device section of xorg.conf, solved the problem for me.

01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon IGP
330M/340M/350M (prog-if 00 [VGA])
Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Radeon IGP 345M
I confirm this behavior on ATI Technologies Inc Radeon IGP 345M, feisty
worked correctly but gutsy not (shakes pixel left to right).
I'll produce as soon as possible the xorg.conf file in a new commentattachment.
