Sure this is fixed? I have the exact same look on my gnome-panel as the first post in this bug report, and I dist-upgraded to Intrepid today. gnome-panels are still limited to 1024x768 resolution, even though maximising an application would take up the full 1360x768 or 1680x1050. -- gnome uses

Hi Tormod, I recently installed Hardy Alpha and it didn't have this issue. However, I just updated my installation after the update-manager prompted that there were new updates. So with the new updates, I have the same problem :-( It was working fine till I installed the updates now.

Hi, I have perhaps a variation of this problem. I have a Dell laptop with a broken monitor, so I use it as a desktop with an external monitor. It has an ATI Radeon Mobility card in it. I see this problem since I upgraded to Gutsy, but also when I run both the Ubuntu as well as Kubuntu live-CDs.
