Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-applets

I have laptop with Intel Core 2 Duo processor. This processor has two
speeds: powersave - processor works at 50% of its maximum frequency and
performance - processor works at 100% of its maximum frequency. After
installing Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy) I found out that Ubuntu starts in
"balanced" CPU mode - CPU works at 50% of its maximum frequency unless
more is needed, but nowhere this information is shown to the user.

** Affects: gnome-applets (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
