I'm working on SRUing cobbler 2.6.6 + fixes from Yakkety back to Xenial.
I think that's the right way to fix this, rather than trying to patch
unmaintained code (2.4 based).

I modified /usr/share/cobbler/web/cobbler.wsgi like this:
#import django.core.handlers.wsgi
#application = django.core.handlers.wsgi.WSGIHandler()
from django.core.wsgi import get_wsgi_application
application = get_wsgi_application()
and it seems to work better.
