[Acer Aspire V3-472G] Suspend not working on Ubuntu 16.04
Tom Louwrier, it will help immensely if you filed a new report with the Ubuntu
repository kernel (not mainline/upstream) via a terminal:
ubuntu-bug linux
Please feel free to subscribe me to it.

** Summary
hi,
Being subscriber to this bug and also experiencing it, may I add that
suspend/resume/hibernate all worked quite well in 15.04 and 15.10?
So it might help focussing on the changes between 15.10 and 16.04 first.
Machine is a Dell Latitude 3540 from early 2014. No proprietary drivers.

saguti, the next step is to fully commit bisect from kernel 3.13 to 4.4
in order to identify the last good kernel commit, followed immediately
by the first bad one. This will allow for a more expedited analysis of
the root cause of your issue. Could you please do this following

Suspend not working on Ubuntu
I mean, the driver was indeed installed when I first reported the bug.
But when started to try the upstream kernels it was uninstalled. In the
recent test with 4.7.2 kernel the driver is no longer installed.
Thus, should I update the initial information of the bug?

Hello.
The driver is not actually installed. By the way, my problem is
happening at suspend rather than at resume.

Hello.
Tested with Kernel 4.6.2-040602-generic. The problem happens when
closing the laptop lid. As mentioned, the screen goes black, but disks
and fans keep working and power led does not go off.
I am attaching the trace files according the debugging guide

Hi.
Tested with 4.7.0-040700rc2-generic. I tested the suspend even from the
login screen (Before logging in), and the third time I tried to suspend,
the screen goes black but disks and fans are still working and system
does not go to suspension. It requires a hard reset.
