the -f install is what lead me to reporting this bug...
I run 16.04 as an upgrade from 15.10 installed on a late '15 mac book pro
Please let me know if there is anything more i can provide you guys to
get this fixed.

Well this is how it happened and how i resolved the issue.
Before installing i started 16.04 live usb, the wifi was not working so in live
usb i enabled proprietary wifi drivers from "additional drivers" the wifi had
no problem from there on out, so i decided to continue

Im not sure of the best way to help you out fixing this, im a programmer
by trade and have used Ubuntu as my daily driver for a few years now so
know my way around it but don't know specifically the best way to report
