Public bug reported: Binary package hint: brasero
I have only verified this bug on x86, it may also exist on amd64 and other archs. When using brasero to create an audio CD, brasero will attempt to use GST &c. to convert audio files to CDDA. Steps to reproduce: When using brasero with gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3 installed, brasero will crash in the 'Getting Size' stage of preparing the volume with any combination of backends selected in GConf. I have not been able to isolate the exact bug, but, based on the upstream (GNOME) developer's comment to GNOME bugzilla #420653, concerning the idea that this issue he thinks was experienced by a particular version of gstreamer: --quote-- Comment #10 from Philippe Rouquier (brasero developer, points: 13) 2007-09-20 11:17 UTC [reply] I think that may probably be a problem with one version of gstreamer. Still I don't have this problem (I had it a few times before) anymore. Especially with the trunk. --endquote-- This led me to inspect just which gstreamer plugins I had installed, in particular for mp3 handling, and noticed that gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3, was installed, which I suspect may be superfluous as a plugin with the MAD and ffmpeg plugins. Uninstalling this plugin removed the crash. Suggested fix: mark gst-fluendo-mp3 source package as conflicting with brasero. Affected versions: brasero 0.6.1-0ubuntu1 (gnome i386) gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3 0.10.5.debian-1 (universe/libs i386) Reference: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420653#c10 ** Affects: brasero (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- brasero+gstreamer bug concerning gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/158185 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
