I'm seeing this on a trusty box on the latest linux-image-generic-lts-
xenial. In our case, it's with apache2 rather than dovecot. Is the
debug kernel applicable to trusty?

That sadly was not very helpful, it died in a completely different place

or race and I have not been able to track it down yet. If it is some
what reliable would you be willing to try a debug kernel to help track
the issue down?

Actually I wanted to modify the Dovecot profile according to

But it also happened before when I tried to aa-enforce the original
profiles.
I have disabled the Dovecot profiles at the moment because
are these custom/modified dovecot profiles?
what other profiles are loaded?
can you provide the output of aa-status?
