Hi,
I'm trying to clear a few old bugs and this sadly never came up again - neither
via prio/people chiming in here nor in other places. Nowadays the server team
has an improved triage process in place which would better catch the hint to
the fix and probably create SRU uploads for this in
To paraphrase a former US President it all depends on what the
definition of "fixed" is.
In Xubuntu 17.04 Beta1 which uses 4.5.4 of samba it does appear to be
fixed. But for Xubuntu 16.10 ( 4.4.5 ), Xubuntu 16.04 ( 4.3.11 ), and
Xubuntu 14.04 ( 4.3.11 ) not so much.
Now the last two are LTS
This looks like https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11994 which
is already fixed a while ago

mount:
sudo mount -t cifs //server/share /mountpoint -o
username=xxx,password=yyy,uid=1000,nounix

There is also a config workaround that you may want to try:
Adding the two lines
no help received at all
looks like samba team completely ignore their users
unprofessional and simple rude
cheers
