This is reproducible with Ubuntu packages version 0.97.2~debian-0ubuntu2
(Intrepid).

There is not any crash, really that last problem I saw changing skin, is
different than I initially reported.
I think this issue can be solved for amsn 0.97.2 (including version from Ubuntu
packages) and also 0.98b from svn.
