I've got the same problem with network-manager. I'm on Kubuntu, and I'm
using it with the Knetworkmanager applet.
Selecting a wireless network from the list won't get me a connection.
Knetworkmanager says Connection failure, and re-connects to the wired
connection.
However, unplugging the LAN

Ok, I ran some tests here, and here's what I've found. For some reason,
the behavior isn't quite like it was before, maybe due to some upgrades
I did this morning (around 12 hours ago). In any case, here's what I
did (all on Nov 6)
