I get the same problem on a fairly fresh 17.10 desktop installation on a Lenovo P51 laptop. Whenever I install a new kernel, the dkms installation calls plymouth --ping which hangs forever. It seems killing plymouth in these cases will progress the build, but it has to be done multiple times per dk

So, I installed plymouth-disabler today and rebooted the server. Though, for some reason (Dell related?) I had to press the power button to shut my server down, it booted unattended. So, it seems plymouth-disabler helped in this issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a mem
