recent duplicate nor user mentioning having the issue on Intrepid and
key info have been lost in time.
apport have been greatly improved since this report and now crucial
informations are automatically gathered and attached
Scott, the network issue and the crash are unrelated. The crash occurred
at 23:01 and the network issue during the next run which has ended
correctly.
I've not seen any recent duplicate about this kind of issue. Have you
been able to reproduce it ?

be a problem with your network connection and not an update-manager bug,

I've upgraded by now. I believe that this *is* an update-manager bug,
because update-manager crashed. Update-manager shouldn't crash if
there's a network problem. Besides, I upgraded from the alternate CD, so
any network interaction was minimal.
