Since this problem was resolved almost a year ago I don't see why should
this bug remain open. Please reopen if you make the changes back and the
problem is still there.

quiet from grub and replace them with vga=normal.

My boot time is not just under 1 minute!!! This time, I see the text with boot
information.
My menu.1st changed from:
title Ubuntu 7.10, kernel 2.6.22-14-generic
root(hd0,1)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.22-14-generic
BTW, is there a plan to fix this? I had done all updates and the problem
persisted.
