I'd NULL pointer bugs in wl_* routines in xenial + 4.8 hwe + broadcom-
sta 6.30.223.271-3~16.04.1 from xenial proposed.
Applying the patch in #1 fixes them. I've now have wlan with hwe kernel
in xenial!!

Ran into this issue on yakkity, in broadcom-sta-dkms 7.30.223.271-3.
Applying the above patch appears to have corrected the problem, and I
have been running stably for 48 hours now.
