Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: lvm2

I am using mylvmbackup to backup an XFS logical volume. The script makes
a LVM snapshot with lvcreate, mounts it and creates a targz of the
content.

With 7.04 this worked fine. Since the upgrade to 7.10 lvcreate kind of freezes
the system. Symptoms:
* CPU usage drops to zero
* load goes to 20
* no activity whatsoever in vmstat/top
* the system still replies to pings
* my SSH session still kind of works, but I can no longer log in

# lvs

  CTRL-c detected: giving up waiting for lock
  /var/lock/lvm/V_volgroup1: flock failed: Interrupted system call
  Can't lock volgroup1: skipping

# lsof /var/lock/lvm/V_volgroup1

lvcreate 27581 root    4uW  REG   0,17    0 42685321 /var/lock/lvm/V_volgroup1

* kill -9 doesn't work on lvcreate
* reboot/shutdown doesn't work

** Affects: lvm2 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
