This has not been fixed. While it appears the package is now in the
pool on the cd, it is not installed in the live image and so the
installation still fails because it can not execute lvs.

Either the package needs to be installed in the live image instead of
being placed in pool ( which I think is how it is done on regular Ubuntu
), or the installer needs to be modified to install it when needed.

This is still an issue with 17.10. Doing a 'sudo apt-get install lvm2'
before running the installer seems to fix it.

I can try this weekend with 17.10, I never could install 17.10 via ISO
because my usb wifi stopped working there right at the installation also. I
spent several hours trying to understand the problem, but i couldn't.

Hello everyone,
i could solve the problem by using the alternate iso 16.10 and what it
did different was to unmount a partition that was being used. Without
unmonting it i could not install grub on the destination drive ever.
Now all it is OK and i am using EFI. If you need me to do some other
