Can't see view message pane in Evolution after
The problem is that WebKit works differently depending on whether it's
built against gtk 3.18 or gtk 3.20. So every time webkit2gtk gets a
security update (which happens frequently), someone needs to manually
rebuild the security update in the GNOME3 Staging PPA or things won't
look right in apps
The latest batch of updates today (which included libwebkit2gtk updates)
fixed the Evolution message pane display problem for me, yay!

I don't have HiDPI enabled (at least not to my knowledge) I did enable
the dark theme for gnome. I don't use epiphany. I don't have problems
receiving messages at all, the only problem I'm having is viewing the
message content in the view pane.

Switching to Thunderbird is exactly what I did. :) But unlike the Arch
thread I don't have HiDPI enabled (scaling is 1 in gnome-tweak-tool for
both fonts and windows section). Epiphany works for me also. Do you have
HiDPI enabled? Does epiphany work for you? Also, for me evolution seems
to display

So I'm pretty sure that this is related to the package
http://packages.ubuntu.com/zesty/libwebkit2gtk-4.0-37-gtk2. But I can't
downgrade this package to confirm. For now switching to thunderbird.
Eventually will retry evolution after the next update.
