In alas mixer there is a channel miss identified as headphones that
regulates the speakers volume. The problem is that after unplugging the
headphones it is muted and volume set to zero.

If I raise the volume there I can hear sound from my speakers again. I
hope that if I take out my headphones I don't have to start terminal and
alsamixer to use my speakers.

I understand this computer had driver problems in the past but I thought
they were resolved.
