I installed gnome-control-center 1:3.24.1-0ubuntu1 on Ubuntu GNOME 17.04
and used it throughout the week. It seems to work as well as the old
version. I successfully opened the Keyboard, Night Light, Sound and
Printers panels.

Accepted gnome-control-center into zesty-proposed. The package will
build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source
/gnome-control-center/1:3.24.1-0ubuntu1 in a few hours, and then in the
-proposed repository.
