Public bug reported:

Unlocked the computer to find Thunderbird in an infinite loop and the
system barely usable, with no networking. ifconfig and netstat -r both
locked up without returning data. Apport would not complete until after
a reboot, so I collected some log output (attached).

At the time of the bug, Ubuntu had been running for about 15 hours since
the last software suspend.
