Private bug reported: Updates fail unless I run: # systemctl enable mysql
It's been happening for at least 5 last versions. I expected the package to update even if its service is not set to run automatically (like the other packages do). ProblemType: Package DistroRelease: Ubuntu 17.04 Package: mysql-server-5.7 5.7.19-0ubuntu0.17.04.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.10.0-28.32-generic 4.10.17 Uname: Linux 4.10.0-28-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.4-0ubuntu4.5 Architecture: amd64 Date: Fri Jul 21 03:48:11 2017 ErrorMessage: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-07-12 (1469 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 13.04 "Raring Ringtail" - Release amd64 (20130424) Logs.var.log.daemon.log: MySQLConf.etc.mysql.conf.d.mysql.cnf: [mysql] MySQLConf.etc.mysql.conf.d.mysqldump.cnf: [mysqldump] quick quote-names max_allowed_packet = 16M MySQLConf.etc.mysql.mysql.conf.d.mysqld_safe_syslog.cnf: [mysqld_safe] syslog ProcCmdline: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-4.10.0-28-generic root=UUID=16cad1a5-ea0d-4437-9e56-c27d4e9f5b8a ro acpi_enforce_resources=lax RelatedPackageVersions: dpkg 1.18.10ubuntu2 apt 1.4 SourcePackage: mysql-5.7 Title: package mysql-server-5.7 5.7.19-0ubuntu0.17.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to zesty on 2017-03-25 (117 days ago) upstart.mysql.override: manual ** Affects: mysql-5.7 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apparmor apport-package zesty ** Description changed: Updates fail unless I run: # systemctl enable mysql It's been happening for at least 5 last versions.
