Public bug reported: mozjs52 is required for gjs 3.26 which is required for GNOME Shell 3.26.
mozjs is the Spidermonkey JavaScript engine used by Firefox ESR. Mozilla has not officially released mozjs52 yet although uh, Firefox 45 ESR is no longer supported either. There are tarballs at https://treeherder.mozilla.org/#/jobs?repo=mozilla-esr52&filter-searchStr=sm-tc Click the pkg link when you expand a recent SM-tc set. Since gjs is the only rdpends of mozjs38 (which was never packaged in Debian), we'll probably drop mozjs38 from Ubuntu as soon as we switch gjs over to mozjs52. I'd like for this to get into Ubuntu by the middle of the August so that we can do the GNOME 3.26 Beta transition in time for Ubuntu Feature Freeze, if we decide to target GNOME 3.26 this cycle. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Wishlist Status: In Progress ** Tags: artful needs-packaging ** Changed in: ubuntu Importance: Undecided => Wishlist ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => In Progress ** Tags added: artful needs-packaging -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1705606 Title: [needs-packaging] mozjs52 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1705606/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
