Well as stated, a simple fix to /etc/environment was all I needed to do, and now it works, along with other QT apps run as sudo (like how partitionmanager acts when run from the menu) that were seemingly missing icons and themes. Seems like there's a problem elsewhere, as my fix also fixed a

This is because Ubuntu did not pick up latest bugfix partition manager version (which was actually released before Ubuntu feature freeze). In any case it should work on 17.10 and also should work in 17.04 if you run it from terminal (just type partitionmanager). ** Changed in: partitionmanager
