The latest release in Ubuntu 16.04 (10.2.8) is failing when upgrading from 10.2.7. Please see this issue: https://github.com/nextcloud/vm/issues/339#issuecomment-323824242 where the user reported that it works without any problem if not upgrading. The upgrade is done like this:
