I tested Thunderbird 60.4 in an Ubuntu 16.04.5 live session with both Ambiance and Radiance and found the tab borders to be very faint but they were there. The border of the selected tab was definitely visible but admittedly not to the extent of when using the Adwaita theme which is what I
