I have the same problem with maverick: Dual monitors arranged
vertically; top and bottom panel are on the same monitor; windows on the
monitor with the panels maximize under the panel near the other monitor.

I confirm this bug too! I'm using ubuntu-10.04 (Lucid Lynx) with
nvidia-195.36.24 and I see the bug.

I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope) on an Asus Eee PC 901 with dual
head (internal plus external monitor). The upper and the bottom taskbar
are placed on the external monitor. When I maximize a window placed on
the external monitor, it touches the bottom of the screen instead of
ending at
I was told this is my bug, but my taskbar is 24 issues high. So does
that fall under bug 140860 or this bug? I still can't get maximize to
not go under the panel on the monitor if the screen edge goes onto
another monitor, and I think that's the underlying issue ... (on latest
jaunty)
