Not really, as now an icon stays in the dock even if there is no
connected device which is a bit meaningless.

I'd say this is a regression between 16.04 LTS to 18.04 LTS. If we can't
get this landed for the release, let's try and aim for 18.04.1 please.

It's indeed another way, Daniel = it's not the same thing all ;-)
- too many clicks
- rely on a vanishing notification ( nothing should rely on notification )
- what is the meaningful link between clock and external storage ???

Confirmed, but there is another way. You can click on the clock at the
top of the screen and then click on the notification to open nautilus on
the device just inserted.
