Xession.d has never been a solution for wayland sessions, if you still
have that file it's a conffile leftover, the profile.d include should
work though

This seems to only be an issue with wayland on bionic. It works fine in
the xorg session. I noticed snapd on 17.10 includes scripts to set
XDG_DATA_DIRS in both profile.d and Xsession.d however on bionic the
Xsession.d script has been removed.
