Hi Guys,
Just wanted to let you know a few things. First, beginning with the
Hardy release the package naming convention changed from 'linux-
source-2.6.x' to just 'linux'. I'm going to reassign this to linux-
ubuntu-modules-2.6.24 anyways. Sorry for any confusion.

Yep, alsa version 1.0.16 is a definite improvement over 1.0.15, though
Ubuntu needs a better autoconfiguration solution: just running alsaconf
is fine so why is it being left out of the official packages without
incorporating an alternative solution? It's a drag to have to download
and compile yo
My bad, the internal mic actually works, one just needs to add the
Recording tab (Preference > Capture), and then unmute it. This seems
fixed for me then on Sony SZ680.
By the way, I added these lines to /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf
alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
options snd-card-0 index=0
opti
Actually, I wouldn' t say this is fixed for sure as I haven't tested
this enough yet but after updating today to alsa 0.16rc in Hardy, at
least I get an internet mic switch in the sound applet (see screenshot).
So far though, I can't hear anything from the recordings though.
