Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

I have ibm thinkpad t43 with ati mobility radeon x300, and i'm using xrandr to
expand my screen on to extern monitor.
While i'm in expanded mode, i can't even run compiz, it says:
:~$ compiz --replace
Checking for Xgl: not present.
Detected PCI ID for VGA: 01:00.0 0300: 1002:5460 (prog-if 00 [VGA])
Checking for texture_from_pixmap: not present.
Trying again with indirect rendering:
Checking for texture_from_pixmap: present.
Checking for non power of two support: present.
Checking for Composite extension: present.
Comparing resolution (2680x1050) to maximum 3D texture size (2048): Failed.
aborting and using fallback: /usr/bin/metacity

But it works if i'm not in expanded mode.

And if you try to expand your screen, while compiz is running, image
just going mad.. not updating etc

By expanding, i mean using xrandr --output VGA-0 --auto --right-of LVDS
