Public bug reported: gnome-shell needs switcheroo-control in order to determine if the system has a hybrid graphics configuration, so it displays the option to use dedicated graphics card when the user right-clicks on an application, and so it displays the name of the dedicated GPU in System Settings > Details.
This package is missing from the fresh install of 18.04, and probably older releases as well. It can be installed by the user with the command: sudo apt install switcheroo-control , but it should be installed by default considering its importance. ** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1771478 Title: switcheroo-control required by gnome-shell but not installed by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1771478/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
