Well I'm running into high cpu usage and nothing beyond a black screen in elisa, however trying glxgears I am seeing the same, no output and high (90%+) cpu usage by glxgears, thanks for the tip, this gives me somewhere else to look. -- Plugins aren't being loaded

All OpenGL applications are fragile when running in a Compiz environment. Try glxgears for instance. AFAIK there are already some bugs reported to Compiz dev team... The Elisa team can do nothing about it, the only thing we do currently to minimize the issues is to minimize the active windows when
