I can confirm that this issue still exists in Focal:

$ ping -c 1 server-without-vbox
PING server-without-vbox(192.168.x.y) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes
Has anyone tried the more recent samba versions like 2:4.11.5+dfsg-
1ubuntu2 in Focal in regard to this bug?
