I have since stopped using evolution for reason other than this bug - evolution didn't seem to be getting along well with MS exchange... I will most likely try again in a while - if I learn any more regarding this bug I will do my best to report it (and any permanent fixes) to the community.

I also have the same problem, ubuntu 8.10 running evolution 2.24.3-0ubuntu1 (ubuntu-proposed repo). What happens is that if I open MS Outlook and view new/unread emails (and they get marked as read), those messages won't show up in Evolution afterwards unless Evolution saw them at the same time

I have the same problem in 8.10 with Evolution 2.22.3.1 where after a restart of the Exchange mail server Evolution locked up. I killed the evolution processes but when I started evolution again it showed an Inbox that didn't match up with the inbox that I saw through Outlook WebAccess or Outlook.
