I had already downgraded and couldn't try the suggested workaround from
#15. I've upgraded to disco again and the popping is still there, but
the workaround quiets it.

Please edit the /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-info.conf, add "options snd-hda-
intel power_save=0", then reboot.
BTW, we will try to find how to fix this issue when runtime PM enabled.
