I hve ubuntu 7.10 and I;m trying to install HP Laserjet 1000
In terminal i type this: lpinfo -v
and get this:

direct hpfax

If you don't have an option to add a local parallel port printer, CUPS
does not think you have a parallel port. So what does, for example, 'ls
-l /dev/lp0' say?
