I think it's indicating remaining time of buffering.
Because I'm a first time user of Ubunto... I'm rather confused.

Thanks for the reply. Am closing this bug as invalid, as it seems to be
misunderstanding of the feature.But, are you meaning the time display at
the bottom of Totem player where is says something like Playing:
0:00/10:00? The first time is the current time (time for which the file
has been played)
