Now the PPA is gone, please open a new bug by running:
ubuntu-bug xorg-server
Please also reproduce the problem, then reboot with nomodeset and run:
journalctl -b-1 > prevboot.txt
and attach the file 'prevboot.txt' to your new bug.

Hi Daniel, thanks a lot for your prompt response.
I removed 'oibaf' and then I removed the 'nomodeset' line and updated
grub as you recommended but when I restarted after the bootloader I get
a screen full of blurry lines. After a few minutes the system restarts
and again a screen of blurry lines
I can see a couple of problems with this system:
1. The 'nomodeset' kernel parameter is set. Please remove it by:
(a) Editing /etc/default/grub
(b) Run: sudo update-grub
(c) Reboot.
2. You are using the 'oibaf' PPA which is not part of Ubuntu and not
supported. We know it to be broke
