Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mplayer

On gutsy/amd64 gmplayer from 2:1.0~rc2-0ubuntu1~gutsy1 (backports)
segfaults if it is invoked without its absolute path.

I enabled backports and allowed mplayer to be upgraded, hoping it would
solve the "video flickers under Compiz" problem. I have a patched
mplayer compiled from source that works fine.

When I tried to play a vid from within a Nautilus file browser window,
nothing happened.

>From the command line, "mplayer foo.avi" works fine, but "gmplayer
foo.avi" segfaults right around the place where it would normally report
"GNOME screensaver disabled" , whilst "/usr/bin/gmplayer foo.avi" does
not segfault. Most peculiar.
