Revisited the orig.tar.* oddity today - 2.9.6 release tarball got lost somewhere during publishing upstream however I was able to locate it, removing the need to use a snapshot as I uploaded before. Please reject the original 2.9.6-0ubuntu0.18.04.1 upload in preference to the smaller diff'ed one I
