Public bug reported: Icedtea fails with this security exception
Caused by: java.security.AccessControlException: access denied ("java.lang.RuntimePermission" "charsetProvider") at java.base/java.security.AccessControlContext.checkPermission(AccessControlContext.java:472) at java.base/java.security.AccessController.checkPermission(AccessController.java:897) at java.base/java.lang.SecurityManager.checkPermission(SecurityManager.java:322) at net.sourceforge.jnlp.runtime.JNLPSecurityManager.checkPermission(JNLPSecurityManager.java:292) at java.base/java.nio.charset.spi.CharsetProvider.checkPermission(CharsetProvider.java:76) even though the jnlp file requests "all permissions". IMO the only possible all is all, so this must be a mistake. The same code, launched by an independent launcher, works fine. To see this behavior, see http://boardspace.net/java/boardspace7.jnlp when the first (login) screen appears, select "play offline" ** Affects: icedtea-web (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1883466 Title: idedtea asks for more permissions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/icedtea-web/+bug/1883466/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
