I did not have a particular solution in mind.
It's just that if you deliver a tool, which shouts "don't use me, I'm
bad, use X instead!", it would be consequent and meet expectations to
deliver tool X as well.
If I read such a warning and need to fix it manually by self-compiling

Thank you for your bug report, that's not a git tool though but an
external one, the warning also points to the github location and not the
ubuntu repositoryn is the bug a request to package the plugin in ubuntu?
