Public bug reported:

If I make a fresh 20.04 install from scratch, with the default gnome
desktop, then plugging the wacom tablet below does not disturb the
background, color scheme and keyboard shortcuts, like ctrl+alt+T give a
terminal.

But as soon as I upgrade this install with ubuntu-unity-desktop, and I
switch to use the corresponding LightDM, then the "system setting" (in
the upper right corner) is not able to handle the background (to set it
to a solid color, or a photo, it remains solid black), it is not able to
set the theme from the default dark to the lighter "radiance", and the
worst of all: the former keyboard bindings, like "ctrl+alt+T gives a
terminal" are no longer executed, they are still there in the listing,
we can change to what keystroke is e browser or a terminal is bind, but
will not work if I press the usual combination.

However, the tablet itself works immediately like a dumb mouse device.

This tablet is according to lspci: ID 056a:0378 Wacom Co., Ltd CTL-
6100WL [Intuos BT (M)]

Somehow plugging the Wacom to USB disables, paralyses a nice diverse
selection of features, but only in the case of Unity, and NOT in the
case of the default Gnome.
